Star
Information
Star was bred by Scott and Corina Alexander of Kiana Siberians in New Hampshire. Scott and Corina, like myself, enjoy doing a variety of activities with their Siberians including sledding, showing, obedience, tracking and backpacking. They run thier dogs in mid-distance races. Both Star's parents have run on Scott and Corina's mid distance teams and have their WD (working dog) titles. Star's older sister Tymber (Star is from a repeat breeding) is one of Corina's main leaders. Her father Orion also has his American and Canadian obedience title, is pointed in both Canada and the US and only needs one more leg to finish his SD (Sled Dog) title..
Although not really seen in a three generation pedigree, Star brings to my future breeding program a dog that goes back to the old Marlytuk line dogs. I've always loved the old Marlytuk dogs, particularly Ch. Marlytuk's Red Sun of Kiska, who is behind Star 29 times in 10 generations. The Marlytuk dogs are known for their lovely type and wonderful temperaments. I also really like the fact that many breeders who have dogs going back to the Marlytuk line have continued to work their dogs in harness or at least kept the workability of the breed a priority in their breeding programs. Star also has a touch of Kontoki in her to blend in with my Kontoki line dogs.
Star will live with Pat and Krista as their family pet but will come to spend time with me on a regular basis and I will get her for showing and breeding. I'm very excited about this little girl's future both in the ring and on the trail.
Star has now retired from showing and breeding and is enjoying live as Pat and Krista's much loved house pet.
