Expiali "Ali"
has many nicknames most connected with her mischievous nature of steeling things and taking them out to the back deck to chew on but her most common names are "Scallywag" or "Scally Ali". She sure was my little rascal, always getting into trouble but just too darn cute to ever get too mad at. This is a trait she has passed onto her daughters. ;)
In the Show Ring
As a puppy Ali was handled in the dog show ring and in junior handling by her junior handler best friend Sean Durnnian. At the time Sean was just starting to learn the ropes of handling so he ended up fussing with Ali a lot. This pairing turned out to be not such a good idea with Ali as she is softer in temperament then her father and ended up disliking the show ring, or at least hating to be stacked. Ali was just shown a few times as a young dog, picking up 4 points, and then we decided to let her mature bringing her back out in 2015 where she finished in just 3 shows with two Best of Breed wins over a Group placing special. She showed well at the Halifax shows but still doesn't like shows enough for me to consider specialing her. I also do not like keeping my dogs (especially the girls) intact once they are finished their breeding careers so Ali will be spayed and we will move onto obedience and therapy dog work.

On the Trail
Ali is a very serious worker in harness, already completing 20 mile runs and runs any position including lead. Her drive is inconsistent as she goes into false pregnancies after coming out of season but I'm hoping that issue will be solved now that she is spayed. When she is not suffering this issue she is a very good worker, one of those dogs you do not really notice because she is just there doing her job. She is gaining more confidence in lead and does do a good job at keeping the team going straight and over to the right side of the road. Ali did complete her Working Lead Dog title in 2011.
UPDATE: Spaying Ali did help her in harness and she ended up being my main leader along side her father for several years. Pippin was still more the drive with Ali being more the "steering" but Ali had no problems keeping up with Pippin Now that Pippin is gone, I'm moving Ali's daughters River and Skittles more up in front of the team. Ali is found either beside one of her daughters or in swing as she is still my best dog for "steering" the team.

Obedience
Ali pasted her CGN test with flying colours in Sept, 2010. Ali does enjoy doing obedience and I hope to get her into the obedience ring in the future.
Ali finished her Rally Novice title in three trials with scores of 86, 97 (3rd in class) and 95.
2017 April 15th: Rottweiler Club of Canada - score of 86 under judge Darwin Bowles
2017 Aug 5th: Cobequid Dog Club - score of 97 (3rd in Class) under judge Edward Leslie
2017 Aug 6th: Cobequid Dog Club - score of 95 under judge Edward Leslie

Therapy Dog Work
Ali became a 5th generation Chimini Siberian Therapy Dog in 2013. She is a "softer" version of her father Pippin which makes her idea for working with the seniors. She loves being petted and the seniors love her gentle, kind, well behaved nature and her sweet face. I knew Ali would be a great therapy dog from a young age as she was always the first to get up on the couch to cuddle with visitors. I think it is likely this job that I will remember Ali the most for. It just warms my heart to see her bringing joy to the seniors.
