Co-Owned & Titled Bred-By Dogs
Instead of owning a large number of dogs myself I sometimes place dogs on co-ownerships. In these cases the dogs live with people as their pets but I have retained breeding rights to the dogs. These dogs might come back to me for a litter or the co-owner will raise the litter for me but the puppies are sold on my contract. This gives me more breeding options without increasing my own numbers while the co-own dogs get to live as family pets with their owners. Most of the co-owners are people who have an interest in getting more involved in the world of dogs so besides having the dogs available to me for breeding I also get to work with these individuals, hopefully giving them a good start in the breed. Although this approach has not always worked out, for the most part, it has worked very well for me, the dogs and the co-owners. As an added bonus I have made some incredible, lifelong friends along the way.
Bred-By dogs are dogs that were bred by me but are owned by others who have breeding rights to these dogs. Only people who I have come to know well personally and trust will get breeding rights to one of my dogs. I sometimes retain breeding rights to these dogs as well.
