Tribute to Disco
Disco lived with his family - Pat and Krista Maynard and their son Bryce and extended family including Krista's brother Adam. He also shared his life with Star, his "girlfriend".
Disco, along with his older brother Weaver, and littermate sisters, Jive and Ceilidh all out of Levi x Freya were the 4 dogs that formed the foundation of my current breeding program. Disco sired two litters for me both when bred to Star. One of those breedings was planned. The other, Disco planned on his own. Star had what is known as "silent seasons", she bled very litter so it was difficult to tell when she was in season. Pat and Krista mainly knew because of Disco's interest in her. However, on one season, Disco figured out that if he kept the fact that Star was in season a secret then he could arrange a romantic liaison with Star. He has a multi Group placing daughter, Josie. Disco also ran on our sled dog team for a couple of years, including running lead with his sister, Jive.
However, Disco's most important role in his life was the love and companionship he gave his family. Krista sent this to me about Disco:
"Disco always thought he was a lap dog, If I was sitting on the floor or ground he always came over and sat on my lap for some love, he loved children, even in his last day he was kind and loving to children, he always jumped up on teens and adults for a hug, but would never jump on a child, he would sit for them to pat them, He loved being silly, and playing ball, however once he was done playing ball he always would try to eat the ball. He last few month he spent most of his time with my Brother Adam, Adam took him for walks everyday right till two days before he passed away. Adam was a big part of his life the last few years." Disco was also a very big part of Pat's and Krista's son, Byrce's life, being there from the moment Bryce was born. He is deeply missed by all his family, including Star.
